IITA continues to seek additional stimulus action for inbound operators and have been exploring the possibility of expanding eligibility for the shuttered venue operator grants (SVOG). During discussions on Capitol Hill prior to the American Rescue Plan passing, several members of congress were receptive to the idea of including tour operators among the qualifying businesses for SVOGs. Two bills have been introduced in the House that would expand eligibility to include tour operators in the program.

IITA sent letters to Representative Nydia Velazquez, Chairwoman and Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Small Business asking for support to extend the SOVG program to include tour operators, which can be of significant help to your company as we work our way back to normal inbound travel patterns.
