Safe Travels Stamp

The World Travel & Tourism Council worked with governments, health experts and industry associations to establish effective global recovery protocols for each travel industry sector to ensure that people are and feel safe. While travelers’ safety cannot be 100% guaranteed, it’s paramount to have common rules and consistent practices throughout the travel experience.

The WTTC’s Global Protocols for the New Normal align the private sector behind common standards to ensure the safety of its workforce and travelers as the industry shifts to a new normal.

IITA worked with the WTTC to adapt the protocols for tour operators to ensure that protocols are in place across all tour functions with an increased focus on health, hygiene, and reduction of physical contact.

While it is essential that each industry within the Travel & Tourism sector develops clear and practical protocols so as to enable the sector’s recovery, such an approach is even more important for tour operators given their dependence on other tourism entities such as destinations, airlines, hotels, transportation, travel insurance as well as government policies such as border restrictions, as tour operators are often responsible for guests throughout their journey.
