About Steps To Success
In partnership with Alon Tourism Solutions, the International Inbound Travel Association (IITA) provides Inbound Insider: Steps to Success™, a nationwide inbound travel training program that has been put to work in many destinations across the US.
Steps to Success is designed specifically for DMOs and tourism stakeholders to increase international tourism ROI by providing tools, resources, and the know-how to work effectively with the travel trade.
This inbound travel training program is 4-steps with 2 facets of service:
- Steps 1-3 provide a strategy framework of training, principles, and tactics.
- Step 4 is the implementation phase with guided one-on-one instruction for suppliers with Alon Tourism Solutions. This step includes tailoring for the businesses and customizing to the destination.
DMOs are experts in promoting their destination, but they need sellable products. Steps to Success helps the DMOs and their tourism suppliers develop products that inbound operators can sell to the international trade – tour operators, travel agents, MICE and other travel buyers.
Alon Tourism Solutions (Alon), as the country’s leading training and inbound marketing consultancy firm, has successfully helped tourism suppliers and destinations with B2B inbound tourism strategies for more than 20 years. Alon designed and delivers the successful ongoing “Tourism Ready” program for NYC & Company, the official DMO of New York City.
Do you want true ROI on your marketing spend and tradeshow attendance?
Do you want to build year-round business during your off season and outside of peak periods?
Do you desire travel trade partners that are confident about selling your destination?
“Pure Michigan, like many state DMOs, has been working in the international marketing arena for years to generate awareness of the state as a premium four-season destination. For our efforts to be fully successful, we knew we would need to do a better job of engaging our local DMOs, hoteliers and attractions with tour operators, agencies and especially receptive tour operators. IITA has helped to inform our industry about this complicated and important business, how it works and how they can generate additional international business.”
“We were incredibly excited to be able to present this learning opportunity to our hospitality partners, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. Jennifer presented the material in a very structured and easy-to-understand format, leaving our attendees with a much better understanding of the international travel industry and how they can be a part of it.”
“As a state that is relatively new to working with the International Inbound Travel Trade, Arkansas found that education and understanding were key components that many of our partners were missing. Working with IITA’s Steps to Success Program is helping us provide a strong foundation to build upon in the future.”
“It has been a devastating time for the global travel industry. But there is light at the end of the tunnel and now is the time to restart our businesses and jumpstart the global travel economy. IITA’s Steps to Success will prepare you to take advantage of pent-up demand from coveted international markets which have begun to rebound. Give your destination, hotels, attractions and more the tools to grow their share of international visitation in a post-COVID world.”
“We planned for Steps to Success to be delivered by webinar for our stakeholders even before the coronavirus, because it’s the most effective way to reach our stakeholders while being considerate of their valuable time. Steps to Success is necessary training to help us broaden our knowledge-base for international tourism.”
“The IITA Steps to Success program delivered by ALON Marketing offered new and exciting ways for Travel Oregon to educate industry suppliers on the international buying chain and ways to work with inbound receptive tour operators. Their flexibility in bringing the program online allowed us to reach more than 150 industry professionals in three virtual workshops. This program was such a success, we’re looking to bring it back in-person around the state in 2023.”
