IITA, International Trade Administration Sign MOU
Last week, IITA and the International Trade Administration (ITA) in the U.S. Department of Commerce, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a partnership to advance international inbound travel to the U.S. IITA will work closely with the National Travel and Tourism Office and the U.S. Commercial Service, both of which function within ITA, to enhance the country’s global competitiveness through education and marketing programs that will increase international inbound travel.
"We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service and NTTO, a collaboration that underscores our shared commitment to strengthening the travel trade’s contribution to growing inbound travel,” said Lisa Simon, IITA’s Executive Director. “By leveraging the U.S. Commercial Service's global network and expertise, we aim to expand our reach, foster new business opportunities, and support the growth of local communities through tourism. Together, we look forward to driving sustainable economic impact and enhancing the U.S. as a premier global travel destination."
Partnership activities may include such activities as educating in-market outbound travel buyers, sharing market intel with IITA members, highlighting lesser-known destinations and products throughout the U.S., and outreach to developing markets.
Representatives from the U.S. Commercial Service and NTTO will join IITA’s upcoming Inbound Operator Forum (December 18) to hear first-hand from operators what will be most valuable to help prioritize activities. Watch for more information on 2025 plans coming soon.
